“Swaranmayi lanka api na me Rochate Laxmana Janani Janma Bhumischa swargadapi gariyasi” O Laxmana! even the gold plated Lanka doesn'nt attract me as my mother and motherland are more blissful than heaven to me.
I , every citizen of India. Who regard this country India (Bharat, भारत) to be their motherland (matrubhumi), fatherland (pitrubhumi, पितृभूमि) as well as their holy land (punyabhumi, पुण्यभूमि), do solemnly resolve to keep my country first. I believe India deserves better and shall strive to uphold our cultural heritage , values , liberty and sovereignty . I shall strive to ensure "Justice for All and Appeasement for None". I shall work towards economic and progress of my country. I will fight hard to demolish caste and class barriers. My life is a gift from my holy motherland and i shall be always grateful for that.
